This year we celebrate a historic milestone: 20 years since the first Multibanco reference was paid through our platform. This moment marked the beginning of a new era in digital payments in Portugal and strengthened our commitment to innovation, trust, and technological excellence.
Our first client was the Bombeiros Voluntários da Feira (Voluntary Firefighters of Feira), who completed the very first payment using an ifthenpay-issued Multibanco reference. The operation took place on October 17, 2005, with the following details:

This pioneering payment validated the reliability and security of our solution and symbolized the beginning of a growth and innovation journey that makes us deeply proud.
